Police uncover firearms and cannabis factory worth £600,000 in Ramsey Heights raids

Police have recovered suspected stolen firearms, vehicles and a £600,000 cannabis factory as part of a crackdown on criminal activity in Ramsey Heights.

The operation involved officers from the Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team, Rural Crime Action Team, and Ministry of Defence Police targeting organised crime linked to cannabis production and metal thefts in Huntingdonshire.

Police raided a site in Middle Drove and Ugg Mere Court Road.

Officers found suspected stolen items including vehicles, firearms, and tools.

Items recovered included a suspected stolen Audi and BMW, a JCB believed connected to criminal activity, a stolen firearm and ammunition, a car key cloning device, and multiple stolen number plates.

Copper cabling, a skip, and cable-cutting equipment were also seized.

A 54-year-old man from Ramsey was arrested for burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been bailed until 8th May.

Two other suspects, aged 26 and 73, were arrested for drug-related offenses and handling stolen goods.

Inspector Colin Norden highlighted the force’s commitment to disrupting drug networks and organised crime.

Inspector Norden said: “This operation is another clear example of our commitment to disrupting drug networks, tackling organised criminal activity and safeguarding the wider community. We will continue to act on intelligence and strike at any moment to protect our communities."
