A man is in critical condition in hospital following a collision between a quad bike and a car in Peterborough.

The crash unfolded at approximately 7.50pm on 27th April along Dogsthorpe Road.

It involved a Yamaha quad bike and a white BMW.

One passenger on the quad bike, a 22-year-old man, suffered severe injuries and is currently in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

The other rider, also 22, initially didn't stop at the scene but later received treatment for injuries at Peterborough City Hospital.

The driver of the BMW emerged from the incident without injuries.

Sgt David McIlwhan from the road policing unit is appealing for anyone in the area at the time of the collision to come forward.

He said any dash cam footage captured during the lead-up to the accident could assist in clarifying the sequence of events.

Those with relevant information can report it online via the collision reporting form, quoting Op Penhale or incident 505 of 27th April.

Anyone without internet access can call 101 to provide details.

The investigation continues as authorities strive to understand the circumstances surrounding the crash.
