Author: Grace McGachyPublished 20th Mar 2026

After nearly six years on the beat in Cambridgeshire, Police Dog Bonnie is retiring.

Paired with her handler, PC Dale Jenkins, in the summer of 2020, Bonnie officially joined the force in November 2022.

Bonnie quickly made a name for herself, discovering a hidden machete within weeks of starting the job.

Her nose has also led her to finding missing people, assisting the Major Crime Unit, and responding to numerous urgent calls.

Now, she's ready for some relaxation at home with PC Jenkins and his fiancée.
