Peterborough woman scammed into sending explicit photos
The victim was told she could earn money for her photos
A woman from Peterborough became a target of a photo scam after joining a social media group promising financial rewards for pictures of her feet.
The group administrator attracted her by claiming she could earn up to £1,000 per image.
According to police reports, the woman was initially asked to provide a photo of her passport held next to her face as an initial step before commencing the photo submissions.
As the relationship with the group admin progressed, requests became increasingly explicit, leading her to share further intimate pictures.
The victim was later alerted by a message from an unknown number that the group was a scam operation.
The message warned that intimate photos and personal identities were being sold on the dark web.
After sharing multiple images, the woman did not receive any compensation as promised.
She reported the incident to the authorities, and police officers are currently investigating the matter with a report submitted to Report Fraud.
