Bake Me 1, a takeaway on Gladstone Street in Millfield, Peterborough, has been closed for three months following concerns about drug dealing and related anti-social behaviour.
The closure order was issued by Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 21st July after a successful application from the city's Central Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The decision comes amid ongoing investigations into drug-related activities, with two local men previously arrested on suspicion of involvement in controlled drug supply and subsequently released on bail.
PC Chris Ogden from the policing team emphasized the impact of drug dealing and antisocial behaviour on the community, noting that closure orders are instrumental in providing relief for affected residents.
Ogden encourages the public to report any breaches of the order, reinforcing adherence and address ongoing issues, outlining that non-compliance can lead to criminal charges, fines, or imprisonment.
