Motorcyclist dies following crash with tractor on A142 near Chatteris

A motorcyclist has died away following a crash with a tractor on the A142.

The collision happened shortly after 8pm on Tuesday (31 March), when the rider of a yellow Yamaha motorbike collided with a tractor travelling in the opposite direction near the Block Fen Drove roundabout, close to Chatteris.

Emergency services attended the scene, but the motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man from March, died at the scene.

The tractor was driven by a 16-year-old from Haddenham, who has been interviewed by the police and is assisting with their enquiries.

Debris from the collision also struck a Volkswagen Polo; however, the driver of the car was unharmed.

An investigation into the incident has been launched, and officers are appealing for witnesses. They urge anyone who saw the vehicles before the accident, has relevant dash cam footage, or possesses any information regarding the collision to come forward.
