A 34-year-old man has been jailed following multiple incidents involving threats and indecent acts across Cambridgeshire.

Mohammed El-Deihi first came to the attention of police in February 2025 after following a woman during her morning walk in Hardwick, near Cambridge, and becoming aggressive when confronted.

The subsequent month, he blocked the path of another woman out walking, shouting and swearing at her.

During this time, El-Deihi was frequently present at St Mary's Church in Hardwick, where he lingered in doorways despite requests from churchgoers to stop attending.

In June 2025, he threatened to kill an individual at St Mary's Church after becoming agitated when asked to leave.

A few months later, barefoot and covered in mud, El-Deihi approached a woman at a bus stop, urging her to follow him.

Despite her refusal and requests for him to leave her alone, he performed an indecent act before fleeing when another person stepped in.

At Peterborough Crown Court, El-Deihi pleaded guilty to charges including making threats to kill, using threatening or abusive words to cause distress, outraging public decency, and failing to surrender to bail.

He was sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison.

PC Cairn Ivers, who investigated, said: “El-Deihi’s behaviour was blatant and absolutely disgusting.

“He was trying to intimidate and frighten his victims using aggression, which is totally unacceptable, so I am pleased justice has been done and he’s behind bars.”
