A man has been jailed, for robbing a teenage boy in Huntingdon.

At around 6.10pm on Monday 27 January, the 16-year-old victim was pushing his bike on Walden Road, in Huntingdon, when Alix Khansa charged at him.

Khansa grabbed hold of the victim and punched him in the face, causing the boy to fall to the floor.

The 18-year-old then made off on the victim’s £200 bike.

The incident was captured on CCTV and Khansa was identified.

At Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (10 October), Khansa, of Cadman Crescent, Wolverhampton, was sentenced to 17 months in a Young Offenders Institute after pleading guilty to robbery. He was also handed an additional ten-month sentence, to be served consecutively, after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of a knife, possession of a knife in a private place, threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence and possession of cannabis from incidents between 10 July and 22 September outside of Cambridgeshire.

Detective Constable Lucy Holderness, who investigated, said: “This was a frightening and unprovoked attack on a teenage boy who was simply out minding his own business. Thanks to clear CCTV footage and swift investigative work, we were able to identify and bring Khansa to justice. I hope this sentence offers the victim some reassurance and sends a strong message that violence and intimidation will not be tolerated."
