Man jailed after approaching young girls in Norfolk
Max Simpkins was caught on CCTV breaching a court order
A convicted sex offender has been jailed after breaching a court order by approaching three young girls while performing an indecent act in his car.
Max Simpkins, 29, of Eastwood End, Wimblington, was caught on CCTV speaking to the girls, aged eight and nine, as he sat in a blue Mini Cooper on Paynes Lane in Feltwell, Norfolk, around 5.20pm on 23 October.
The children ignored him and told their parents, who contacted police. Officers from Cambridgeshire Police later confirmed Simpkins had breached a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which banned him from having unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.
He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday, 4 July.
DC Sonia Kauser said: “The children did everything right by walking away and alerting their parents. Simpkins thought offending out of county would protect him, but this case shows how seriously we take offender management.”
