Paedophile with more than 4,000 indecent images of children jailed

A paedophile who was found with more than 4,000 indecent images of children on his devices has been jailed.
Kieran Jackson, 27, was brought to the attention of the Online Child Abuse Safeguarding Team (OCAST) after he uploaded indecent images of children to an Instagram account in October 2024.
Officers from OCAST were able to trace the IP address of the Instagram account, which led them to the home address of Jackson, whose date of birth and email address were a match to those on the Instagram account.
When officers executed a warrant at his address in 2025, two of Jackson’s devices were seized and were found to contain more than 4,000 indecent images of children, with 985 of those images deemed to be category A (the most severe).
At Huntingdon Law Courts, Jackson, of Main Street, in Ely, was jailed for one year and two months after admitting three counts of making indecent photographs of a child.
He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), banning him from using any computer or device capable of accessing the internet unless he notifies police, and it retains all user search history. Any devices must also be immediately available on request for inspection by a police officer.
PC Tristan Vert, who investigated, said: “Jackson was found to be in possession of almost 1,000 category A, or the most serious, files containing indecent images of children, as well as over 1,000 category B images.
“Not only that, but he was actively sharing the images on social media for other people to view, so I am pleased he’s now behind bars for his crimes.
“We will continue to put before the courts anyone found making or distributing sexual images of children.
“Protecting young people from harm is one of our top priorities and we will continue to work tirelessly to keep children safe.”
