Man jailed after cocaine found in stolen car in Cambridge

Upon searching the car, police discovered a food bag stuffed with 49 individual bags of cocaine, with an estimated street value of up to £2,940.

A man has been jailed after police discovered a stash of cocaine hidden in a stolen car in Cambridge.

Cambridgeshire Police were alerted to a black Peugeot 3008 parked, in Sackville Close, on 26 March, which had been reported stolen from Heathrow.

Marques Barbosa De Souza was spotted walking away from the vehicle and initially claimed he had rented the car but changed his story when he was unable to provide a rental agreement.

At Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (12 September), Barbosa De Souza was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
