Man jailed after sexually assaulting young girl in Peterborough
A 58-year-old has been sentenced to two years in prison and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

A man who sexually assaulted a young girl in Peterborough has been jailed for two years.
Edwin Timewell, 58, assaulted the girl at a house in the city on 21 December 2024.
The child alerted her parents, who contacted police. Officers said Timewell admitted the offence when questioned.
At Cambridge Crown Court on 29 April, Timewell, of Essex Road in Stamford, Lincolnshire, pleaded guilty to assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.
As well as the prison sentence, he was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register until 2036 and was handed Sexual Harm Prevention and restraining orders lasting until April 2036.
Detective Sergeant Steph Parker said offences of this nature can have a “huge impact on victims and their families”.
