ATM stolen in dramatic early morning raid
Police are investigating a ram raid that occurred at 5am this morning at the BP garage on Wisbech Road in Littleport.
Officers arrived at the scene minutes later to find that the ATM had been stolen, although the telehandler used in the raid was abandoned nearby.
The area was searched, but no suspects were found.
Anyone with information, including dash cam or video doorbell footage, is urged to contact police.
This incident marks the fourth ram raid in the county this week.
Residents are being encouraged to take precautions, including installing working trackers in vehicles, setting up video doorbells or CCTV, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or unusual vehicles.
Police are particularly interested in reports of people tampering with ATM machines or placing 'out of order' signs on them.
They’ve also advised people to report any unfamiliar high-performance or heavy vehicles parked in an area for several days.
