A large fire involving a barn in Tilbrook, Huntingdonshire, broke out in the early hours of Friday morning (October 17), prompting a major emergency response.
Fire crews were called to Station Road at 1.52am, where they found a well-developed fire involving a barn containing around 300 tonnes of straw.
More than 30 firefighters attended the scene, including crews from Kimbolton, Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives, Yaxley, and Northamptonshire’s Raunds and Thrapston, supported by a water carrier from Ramsey.
Crews worked through the night to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading further. They remained on site this morning to fully extinguish the flames.

Residents living nearby are advised to keep doors and windows closed if affected by the smoke. The fire service has confirmed that crews are managing the incident and there is no need for the public to call 999 unless there is a new emergency.
