A 24-year-old from Soham has been sentenced to three years and six months in jail after a drug dealing and human trafficking operation in Cambridgeshire.

Joe Ewing was arrested in March after being identified as a county lines drug dealer.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said, "During a search of his home officers found and seized £415 of cannabis, more than £1,500 in cash, a machete and a knife.

"They also found a phone with messages linking him to drug dealing between November and March."

He was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on the 4th of June.

Ewing pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession of cannabis, possession of criminal property and breaching a suspended sentence order.

Investigator Detective Constable Alex Galan-Tarachiu said "Less than a year after receiving a suspended sentence for drug dealing, Ewing has found himself back before the courts and now with a substantial prison sentence.

“The message is simple, drug dealing is not welcome in Cambridgeshire. It brings misery and violence to our communities and targets vulnerable people and those responsible will be arrested and put before the courts.”
