A drug dealer caught with 64 wraps of class A drugs, who said he found it in a car park, has been jailed.

Lucas Marques Nascimento, 27, was spotted by neighbourhood officers in St Matthew’s Street, Cambridge, at about 4pm on 31 May.

After receiving information from the community about drug dealing on Rope Walk, officers from Cambridgeshire Police recognised him as being involved.

Nascimento said he only had alcohol on him, denied he had any drugs on him and said he had found “something” in a nearby car park as he was searched by the officers.

In total, Nascimento was found to have 64 wraps of class A drugs on him.

On Tuesday (26 August), at Cambridge Crown Court, Marques Nascimento, of no fixed address, was jailed for 27 months having pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
