A dangerous driver who ploughed into cars and houses has been jailed.
43 year old Carl Scarrow was spotted by officers driving a black Vauxhall Vectra on the A1123, near Harrison Way, in St Ives, at about 3.40am on 1 December.
The officers followed and Scarrow drove normally before turning into Broad Leas where they indicated for him to stop.
Scarrow continued driving and turned into East Street where he overtook two vehicles while turning left and collided with a Toyota Aygo, an Audi A3 that were both parked and two houses.
Scarrow was arrested and checks found he was uninsured to drive the car and only had a provisional licence.
He also failed to provide a drugs wipe test.
Structural engineers had to inspect one of the houses and supports were put in place so the Vectra could be removed.
Scarrow, of Needingworth Road, Bluntisham, was jailed for 10 months, having pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, dangerous driving, no insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and four counts of criminal damage.
He was also banned from driving for 29 months.
DC Samantha Chapman said: “Carl Scarrow drove incredibly dangerously in a built-up area and was lucky it was pretty quiet, otherwise the consequences could have been much worse.
“I am glad he’s been jailed and banned from driving because he put people in serious danger.”
