A 70-year-old cyclist from Wisbech is recovering from serious injuries following a collision with a lorry.

The incident took place on 26th February at around 4.45pm on the A1101, Leverington Road.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene after receiving reports of a collision between a white DAF lorry and the cyclist.

The cyclist was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.

The driver of the lorry, a 58-year-old man from Spalding, stayed at the scene, and police investigations are ongoing.

Sergeant Ian Leeson from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision, or who may have seen the bike or lorry heading along Leverington Road in the moments before, especially if you have any dashcam footage.”
