Cambridgeshire drug dealer ordered to pay back thousands of pounds

Investigations into 29-year-old Dariusz Pytiak linked him to drug dealing dating back to 2018

A St Ives drug dealer has been ordered to pay back thousands of pounds earnt through drug dealing.

29-year-old Dariusz Pytiak was stopped by Neighbourhood officers in 2022 after he skipped the traffic lights on St Audrey Lane.

was pulled over and spoken to when officers smelt cannabis coming from his black Mercedes.

Pytiak’s car was searched and officers found three mobile phones, £305 in cash, cannabis and cocaine.

Further investigations showed whilst Dariusz had earned £44k through employment, more than £250k had been deposited through his account between 2018 and 2022.

Police went on to search Pytiak’s home in Dunnock Way, St Ives, in December 2022, where they found further mobile phones, £6,205 in cash, along with designer clothes and trainers, and numerous cash receipts.

Pytiak was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

Following his sentence, the Eastern Region Special Operation Unit’s (ERSOU) Proceeds of Crime Unit (POCU) launched a financial investigation which discovered Pytiak benefitted by a total of £265,560.16 from criminal conduct.

A Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing held at Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday (11 February), ordered him to repay his currently held assets worth £26,440. He was ordered to pay it back within 28 days or face a further six months in prison, where he would still be required to repay the money.
