Man arrested after sudden death of woman in Cambridge

Detectives are investigating the sudden death of a woman in her 20s in Cambridge.

They're treating her death as suspicious.

She was found at a home on Chesterton Road yesterday afternoon (2nd October) and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 29-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested on suspicion of murder, and has been released on bail until 2nd January.

Police say extra patrols are in place in the area and are asking anyone with information to contact them, quoting Operation Solarium.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesperson said, "Detectives are treating the death of a woman in Cambridge as suspicious.

"Police were called by the ambulance service at about 12.50pm yesterday to a property in Chesterton Road with reports of the sudden death of a woman.

"The woman, who is in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Police arrested a 29-year-old man from Cambridge on suspicion of murder yesterday evening. He remains in custody at Parkside Police Station.

"A forensic post-mortem is due to take place next week."

It's believed to be an isolated incident.

An investigation is ongoing and police are continuing to appeal for information.
