A child has died after being found in water near March in Cambridgeshire.
The ambulance service was called just after 2pm yesterday (Monday 6 April 2026).
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called just after 2pm to reports of a child in the water on March Road in Wimblington.
"We dispatched an ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle, rapid response vehicle and the Magpas Air Ambulance.
"The child was transported by road to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment.”
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "The boy has sadly died.
"This is not being treated as suspicious and has been passed to the coroner."
One person told us several people on a caravan and camping site near to where the boy was found had tried to help his family find him.
Priory Golf & Activity Centre on March Road closed yesterday after being made aware of the incident.
It has since reopened as normal.
