11 Cambridgeshire areas set to get new 20mph speed limits
A hundred and sixty thousand pounds has been set aside for next year, with successful bids coming from villages in South Cambs, Huntingdonshire, and East Cambs.
Several villages across Cambridgeshire will see new 20mph speed limits introduced - after securing a share of 160 thousand pounds from the county council.
Eleven areas were chosen from nearly one hundred applications, with funding covering the full cost of the schemes.
The council says these lower limits will make roads safer and help support healthy, active travel.
Areas approved for 20mph schemes were:
- South Cambridgeshire: Barrington, Comberton, Landbeach, Harston, Madingley, Milton and Newton (all approved for village-wide schemes).
- Huntingdonshire: Offord Cluny and Offord Darcy (village-wide), and Waresley (multiple roads).
- East Cambridgeshire: Wilburton (village-wide), Sutton (multiple roads).
On-site delivery of the approved schemes is expected to begin late summer 2026 and continue through to spring 2027.
