A cyclist has died following a crash in Bedminster involving a car.

Emergency services were called to North Street just after 12.30pm yesterday.

Members of the public and emergency personnel attempted to assist the cyclist, but he died at the scene.

Police have notified the man’s next of kin and are offering support through a family liaison officer.

The car involved left the scene before officers arrived but has since been located.

Yesterday, a man in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving while unfit.

Today, police confirmed they had also arrested an adult teenage male on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.

Both males remain in police custody.

Police are asking anyone who may have doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage, or witnessed the collision, to come forward.
