Thousands of Bristol rugby fans head to Cardiff for the Big Day Out

More than 40,000 people are travelling across the bridge to the Principality stadium for the Bristol Bears' Big Day Out.

The landmark double-header event includes matches featuring both Bears Women and Bears Men taking on Harlequins, with the first kick-off scheduled at 3.30pm.

Fans can immerse themselves in a lively atmosphere with entertainment and activities at Cardiff Arms Park's Thatchers Fan Village, offering live music, DJ sets, player Q&As, and enticing drinks promotions.

Supporters are encouraged to come together for The Bear Run along Westgate Street to cheer Pat Lam’s men into the stadium 90 minutes before kick-off.

Fans heading to Cardiff are being urged to plan ahead due to extensive road closures and expected congestion.

To ensure fans arrive on time, detailed travel advice is issued, highlighting road closures in Cardiff city centre from 11am to 8pm.

Attendees are encouraged to use park & ride options at Vindico Arena, with transportation running every 30 minutes.

Transport for Wales is managing post-match crowds at Cardiff Central and Queen Street stations, with Valley Line passengers directed to Cardiff Queen Street while mainline services remain at Cardiff Central.
