Teenager arrested after 11-year-old falls unwell in Weston-super-Mare

A teenage boy has been arrested following reports of an 11-year-old boy falling unwell in Weston-super-Mare yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services responded after CCTV operators flagged the incident at 3.42pm yesterday (7th April).

Street Wardens and Community Response Officers provided initial care to the boy until paramedics arrived.

After receiving medical attention at the hospital, the young boy was discharged to recover at home.

The teenage boy, arrested in connection with the incident, has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Earlier today, a teenage girl who attended a voluntary interview contributed to the ongoing investigation.

Police also recovered a vape, which is undergoing tests as part of their efforts to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Inspector Lee Kerslake addressed the community's worries about the incident and ensured that the boy’s family would be kept informed throughout the process.
