The inaugural Summer Fest at the Beach in Weston-super-Mare is already set to return, with organisers promising improvements for future editions of the festival.

The festival saw thousands of attendees gather for a weekend of music and entertainment, although not without some weather-related challenges and some frustration from attendees.

Thousands came together over the weekend for music and entertainment - but organisers admit there are lessons to learn for next time.

They’re promising to use feedback to improve.

In their post on social media, they said: "We wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible, emotional and at times challenging weekend.

"Firstly, thank you.

"Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, attended, performed, worked behind the scenes, volunteered, supported us and believed in what we were trying to create.

"For the last 16 months, our goal has been to put Weston-super-Mare back on the map and create something the town could be proud of. Seeing thousands of people come together over the weekend, singing, dancing and making memories, was something we will never forget.

"Of course, we know the weekend wasn't perfect.

"Unfortunately, the one thing no event organiser can control is the weather, and Saturday in particular presented some very difficult challenges. Throughout the day, decisions had to be made in real time with one priority above all else - the safety of our attendees, artists, staff and contractors.

"We know some people were frustrated by aspects of the weekend and we completely understand that. We have spent the last few days listening to feedback, reading comments, speaking to suppliers and reviewing everything that happened. The positive feedback has been overwhelming, but we've also heard the constructive criticism and we will learn from it.

"As a first-year festival, there are things we are incredibly proud of and there are things we know we can improve. Every piece of feedback helps us do that.

"What we hope people remember is that this festival was created by people who genuinely care about Weston-super-Mare and wanted to bring something special to the town. Every decision made over the weekend was made with the best intentions and with public safety at the forefront.

"To everyone who supported us, thank you.

"This was the first Summer Fest at the Beach, not the last, and we are already looking at how we can make it even bigger and better in the years to come.

"Weston, you've been amazing."
