Renewed appeal for information into Yeovil sexual assault

There's a renewed appeal from Avon and Somerset Police for information into a sexual assault in Yeovil.

A woman was dragged off a pathway by a man at Milford Dip, off Milford Road, at around 9.30pm on the Sunday before last (13th April).

The victim was able to get away afterwards and run to a nearby house for help.

Police were called at 9.50pm and were on the scene by 10.10pm.

A man was arrested that evening in the area, and has since been released on conditional bail.

A suspect has been described as:

  • White
  • In his 40s
  • Around six feet two inches tall
  • Well-built and heavy
  • Short dark hair
  • Stubble
  • Tattoo on his left arm
  • Wearing a grey polo top
  • Blue jeans
  • Smelled of alcohol and cigarettes

The victim has also told police she noticed someone sitting in a small green car on Melrose Road, who may have seen what happened.

Investigating officers are asking anyone who might have been in the Goldcroft, Milford Road or Melrose Road area between 9.00 and 10.00pm on Sunday 13th April to contact them.

They want to hear about suspicious activity or from those with home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage from the area which could help with enquiries.
