Bath remembrance service to honour babies who’ve passed away
Families affected by the loss of a baby are invited to the event at Haycombe Cemetery
An event to remember babies who’ve passed away is being held in Bath to support families affected by baby loss.
The service will take place at Haycombe Cemetery, providing a space for families who have experienced baby loss at any stage of pregnancy or shortly after birth.
The event has been organised by the Spiritual Care team at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with Sands.
Attendees will be invited to write their baby’s name on a paper butterfly and light a candle during an Act of Remembrance.
Narinder Tegally, Lead Chaplain at the RUH, said: “This service, for people of all faiths and spirituality, is a time to come together, to remember and to acknowledge the love that remains for babies who are no longer here.”
The service, featuring music and readings, will begin at 1pm at the Hilltop Chapel in Haycombe Cemetery on Whiteway Road, Bath.
After the service, refreshments will be available and attendees can visit the nearby Sands Garden, where they have the opportunity to plant small plants in remembrance.
