A motorcyclist has died after a collision in the Southmead area of Bristol.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police were called to Greystoke Avenue at around 1.40pm this afternoon (Tuesday 13th October) after reports of a single vehicle collision.

The motorcyclist -a man - died at the scene and his family are being supported by a specially trained officer.

Police say collision investigation work is taking place at the scene and due to the "extensive nature of those enquiries" the road is expected to remain shut for a number of hours.

Drivers are being asked to use alternative routes and any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage that may be relevant to the investigation is being asked to contact police.
