Plans have been unveiled for a community centre at Fishpool Hill in north Bristol, set to open in 2029 as part of the Cribbs Patchway New Neighbourhood.

South Gloucestershire Council is allocating £5.34 million towards constructing the facility, with funds sourced from developer levies known as Section 106.

Expected to host a range of activities for local people, the centre will also facilitate youth work and community development programs.

A council report highlights the role of the centre in helping new communities establish identity and connection, meeting demands for modern facilities with flexible uses.

Adjacent developments include Fishpool Hill's 1,100 planned homes, and another centre at Brabazon, delivered early in the Spitfire Hangar.

The Cribbs Patchway area covers more than 5,000 homes, encompassing housing sites at Brabazon and Berwick Green, plus planned schools and transport links.
