Nailsea turns pink for cancer research fundraising extravaganza
Community rallies for colourful festivities and crucial cause
From 18th April to 2nd May 2026, Nailsea will be transformed into a vibrant Sea of Pink as the community unites to support cancer research.
The event kicks off on 18th April at the Farmers’ Market.
Volunteers and organisations are creating pink-themed decorations, including bunting and bollard covers, to adorn the High Street and Crown Glass Shopping Centre.
Local shops and businesses are also participating by transforming their storefronts with bright pink displays.
How to get involved
Amidst the fun and creativity of the event, participants are reminded of its core mission: raising awareness and funds for cancer research.
The Nowhere Fundraisers, a local group supporting Cancer Research UK, aim to highlight advances in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and prevention while acknowledging ongoing challenges.
Pink collection boxes can be found at participating shops and cafes, or donations can be made by contacting the organisers.
Highlight events and entertainment
Several activities have been organised for the event, including a Mid Pink Party on 25th April in Somerset Square.
Hosted by Fiona Lamdin, BBC Points West presenter, and local MP Sadiq Al-Hassan, the celebration will feature performances by Winder Border Morris Dancers, Ukebox, The Ambling Band, Nailsea Musicals, and Hello Dolly.
Visitors can enjoy entertainment at venues like Coates House, Paradiso, The Royal Oak, The Glassmaker, and Livro Lounge, alongside stalls, games, and face painting.
Maggie Cannon of Nowhere Fundraisers for Cancer Research UK noted the significance of community involvement: “We’d love the people of Nailsea to get involved and help us turn the town pink once again. Every contribution makes a difference."
This initiative not only spreads joy but also plays a vital role in supporting Cancer Research UK's efforts to save lives.
Posters promoting the event will be available at the Farmers’ Market stall on 18th April.
