A 30-year-old man from St Pauls has been jailed for stalking four women in Bristol, causing them significant distress.

Piersaverio Finizio, of St Nicholas Road, was sentenced to 12 months in custody at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on 19th November 2025 for four counts of stalking. Restraining orders have been imposed for five years, along with a Stalking Prevention Order aimed at managing his behaviour upon release.

Finizio approached the women in various areas of Bristol earlier this year, including Newfoundland Way, Bond Street, and Wade Street. The victims stated they felt unsafe and uncomfortable following these encounters.

One incident occurred in the early hours of 14th February when Finizio told a woman ‘you look lonely, I want to be your valentine’ before following her as she fled. Over the course of March and April, he made unwanted advances towards others, asking for their contact details and making alarming comments, such as ‘you will be an angel soon.’

One woman was approached twice, with the second instance involving Finizio grabbing her arm before she managed to escape. In a later case, another victim gave Finizio her number after he blocked her path. He subsequently called her twice and sent her a message.

Detectives identified Finizio through the phone numbers provided by the victims, leading to his arrest.

In court, victim impact statements detailed the lasting effects of the stalking. One woman shared how the incidents left her constantly on edge, saying: “I no longer feel comfortable or at ease when leaving my home… The fear and anxiety I experience have been so overwhelming.”

Another victim described feeling anxious and wary, adding: “That first time, he said, ‘it must be scary being a girl at night.’ That sentence broke something in me.”

PC Toby Downes, investigating officer, said: “Several women were targeted and made to feel unsafe in their own communities, and nobody should be made to feel like that. I want to commend their bravery in coming forward and supporting this investigation – their courage has been instrumental in securing this conviction.

“Tackling violence, harassment and intimidation against women and girls remains a top priority. No one should feel unsafe walking the streets of Avon and Somerset.”
