A man has died after falling from height in the centre of Bristol early this morning (Friday, May 22).

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the incident took place on Rupert Street at around 6.30am, prompting emergency services to attend the scene.

Authorities are treating the man's death as non-suspicious, and investigations are ongoing to establish his identity.

There were road closures in place along Rupert Street, between Bridewell Street and Colston Avenue, to allow emergency teams to work safely.

These restrictions were lifted at approximately 8.45am.

Police have not released further details, but are urging anyone with information about the man’s identity or the circumstances surrounding the fall to contact them.

Officers say their thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time.
