Former independent school teacher denies sexual offences charges
Charges relate to offences allegedly committed against boys in the 1980s and 1990s
A former independent school teacher from South Gloucestershire has denied a series of historical sexual offences against boys.
David Henry Shelly Wright, 79, appeared before Bristol Crown Court on Monday accused of 14 charges of indecent assault.
Wright, of Longwell Green spoke only to confirm his name and enter not guilty pleas to all the charges he faced.
The charges relate to offences allegedly committed against boys in the 1980s and 1990s at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital independent school in Berkeley Place, Bristol.
Wright worked at the school as a teacher and boarding master and later as a non-teaching employee.
Judge Anna Richardson fixed a trial date for November 15 next year. A further pre-trial hearing will take place in May.
“Your case is being adjourned for two further hearings. You need to attend those hearings,” she said.
Wright was released on unconditional bail.
