UPDATE
Bristol Water has confirmed that teams have completed the latest repair, but that it may take some time to fully restore supplies to homes.
In a post on social media this afternoon, the water company said: "Following completion of the repair, it will take some time to fully restore your water supply. We refill the network carefully and slowly to ensure the change in water pressure doesn't cause any further issues. We appreciate your patience."
It has also indicated that compensation will be offered in line with its Customer promise.
Thousands of households in Bristol are now facing a fourth day without water, after a second leak was discovered on a burst main in the city.
Bristol Water teams have been working around the clock, digging up to five metres down in tough conditions to reach and repair the latest burst.
The firm says they are doing everything possible to restore supplies as quickly as they can, but there is still no confirmed time for when water will be back to normal.
About two thousand six hundred customers in the BS4 and BS14 areas are currently affected. Roads at the junction of Hengrove Way and Hawkfield Road in Hartcliffe remain closed while engineers continue repair work.
Bristol Water says bottled water is being delivered to vulnerable people, and a collection station is open near the old Cineworld on Hengrove Way from 7am today (Monday 26th January).
The company has apologised for the ongoing disruption and thanked customers for their patience and kindness to its teams.
