Bristol has failed to make the shortlist of cities that are in the frame to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Britain, which finished second at this year's event, is stepping-in because Russia's war in Ukraine means it's too dangerous for Kyiv to host.

This morning, the cities that made a bid were whittled down to a final seven. The following candidates remain:

  • Birmingham
  • Glasgow
  • Leeds
  • Liverpool
  • Manchester
  • Newcastle
  • Sheffield
