Bristol is marking International Women's Day with a special event at City Hall.

This year, the theme is "connection and common ground," emphasising the importance of collaborative progress for women's rights and inclusivity.

Bristol Women's Voice will host the free celebration, which promises a day filled with panels, workshops, stalls, and opportunities for attendees to share and hear lived experiences.

Councillor Heather Mack, Deputy Leader of the Council, will inaugurate the day's events, highlighting the council's commitment to inclusivity and safety for all women.

"I invite you to use your voice to celebrate all women everywhere and to reach out to women and girls in your local community and work together for a better Bristol," said Councillor Mack.

The event aligns with the United Nations theme "Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls," which underscores the global struggle for gender equality.

Participants are encouraged to wear white as a symbol of unity and peace.

Through discussions and activities, the event aims to foster community cohesion and support for local initiatives.

As the city celebrates women's successes, event organisers hope to inspire change on both local and global fronts.
