Heartbreak in BS3 as Bristol City lose to Sheffield in the first leg of the Championship play-offs
It was a 0-3 defeat at Ashton Gate
It was a difficult start to the play-offs for Bristol City who lost 0-3 to Sheffield United at Ashton Gate.
A red card for Rob Dickie in the final moments of the first half and a penalty for Sheffield, left the Robins one goal down and ten men on the field at half time.
Two more goals from Andre Brooks and Callum O'Hare in the second half, sealed City's fate.
Speaking after the game, head coach Liam Manning had some harsh words for officials and the controversial decision to take Rob Dickie off the pitch.
"It was a disgrace to be honest," he said.
"Rob kicks the ball so I don't get how there's a decision made like that.
"Though, we didn't defend well enough to stop the ball getting in that area, so it's not a case of throwing the blame elsewhere."
The side will now be hoping to turn their luck around on Monday when they head to Bramall Lane for the second leg.
