Ashton Gate Stadium has announced it is pausing all large-scale concerts this year as it prepares to host the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

The Stadium has previously featured artists including Spice Girls, Take That, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, and Elton John.

In a statement online, the venue said: "In September this year we are proud to be hosting two quarter-finals and both semi-finals of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, the largest global tournament in women’s rugby."

"To ensure the stadium is in peak condition for this prestigious event, essential upgrades and preparatory work will take place over the summer.

"As a result, we have decided all large-scale concerts, including Ashton Gate Presents BS3, will be put on hold for this year.

"We are already working to secure an exciting line-up of artists for future events and look forward to announcing these in due course."
