The family of Alfie Gray, an 18-year-old from Weston-super-Mare, has paid a heartfelt tribute to their son, two years after he was killed in a motorbike accident caused by a dangerous driver.

Alfie was riding home from work along the A370 on his motorbike when he collided with a car that veered into his path on Tuesday, 10th September 2024.

Despite efforts, he tragically died from his injuries.

His parents have expressed their immense pride and have written a moving tribute to Alfie, describing him as always missed, never forgotten, and always loved.

"Our handsome son, Alfie Gray, was 18 years old. He was full of ideas for his future and wanted to live his life to the fullest, but his life was cruelly ripped away while he was riding his motorbike," the statement read.

They continued to praise Alfie as a protective brother, loyal friend, and integral member of the local biking community, often described as a 'gentle giant.'

The tragic event that claimed Alfie's life was due to a motorist's dangerous driving.

Emphasising the impact of this loss, his parents said, "Alfie’s future, his hopes, and dreams were taken due to someone choosing to drive dangerously."

Kasper Stankiewicz, 20, from Congresbury, has been sentenced to two years in a young offenders’ institution and disqualified from driving for six years following the incident.

The collision happened when Stankiewicz was overtaking another vehicle on the opposite side of the road and collided with Alfie near Puxton Park.

The sentence, delivered at Bristol Crown Court, acknowledges the grave impact of reckless driving while the family of Alfie grapples with their tremendous loss.

His parents further stated, "We are heartbroken and no sentence will ever ease the pain of never seeing our son grow and develop into the wonderful man we know he would have become."
