Police have arrested 12 people after a protest near Elbit Systems in Filton.

Avon and Somerset Police said officers responded to a protest in Patchway today (4 November).

The force said it received a report at around 6.40am that protesters were blocking Titan Road and 'locking on' to items.

Police said officers sought to engage with the protesters in the morning as part of their duty to enable peaceful protest.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "With the protest ongoing and causing disruption, we made the decision to arrest 12 people, six at the roundabout for Taurus Road and six at the roundabout for Titan Road, on suspicion of criminal damage and wilful obstruction of a highway.

"Specialist officers were involved in the removal of the 12 individuals, who are now in custody while enquiries continue."
