A masseur has appeared in court in Northumberland charged with 55 sex offences.

The charges against Terence McBrien relate to 14 different women and span a 10 year period, between 2011 and 2021.

He's accused of one count of attempted rape, seven counts of sexual assault by penetration, 34 counts of sexual assault by touching, and 13 counts of voyeurism.

The 72-year-old, from Alnwick, did not enter a plea when he appeared before Berwick Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday)

He spoke in a clear voice to confirm his name, date of birth and address, and said “Fully understood ma’am” when Chairman of the Bench, Wendy Brett, told him he was being granted conditional bail.

She told him he must next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on April 16th for a plea hearing.
