A motorcyclist has been injured following a collision with a car on the A7 just south of Stow.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 2pm this afternoon (Tuesday), and a 49-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police say the driver of the car has been charged in connection with a road traffic offence.

It's the second crash on that road in three days, and comes just weeks after the speed limit was reduced from 60 to 50mph as part of a drive to make it safer.

A 29-year-old man was charged with alleged road traffic offences after police found an overturned car near the Bowland junction - between Stow and Galashiels - in the early hours of Sunday morning.
