The family of a 35-year-old woman found dead at a property in Hawick last week say "her kindness, strength, and love will never be forgotten".

An online crowdfunder has been set up in memory of Stacey Hogg to help with her funeral expenses and support her three children.

And has already raised more than £36,000.

The fundraiser describes Stacey as a loving mum, daughter, sister and friend who "touched the lives of so many" and says she will be "deeply missed by everyone who knew her."

A 39-year-old man is due to make a second appearance in court this week charged with her murder.

It comes after police were called to an address in McLagan Drive around 7.20am on Thursday.

"It is with broken hearts that we are raising funds following the tragic and devastating loss of our beloved Stacey," the GoFundMe page states. "She was a sister, a daughter, a mother, and a friend, who was taken from us far too soon."

And it adds: "As our family tries to come to terms with this unimaginable loss, we‘re trying to ensure her children have the support they need for the future."

Local business Borders Competitions has donated £600 to the appeal.

In a message shared on social media, Stacey's family thanked people across Hawick and beyond for their kindness and generosity, saying they had been overwhelmed by the support shown during an incredibly difficult time.

"Seeing so many people come together has reminded us just how deeply loved and respected she was," brother Arran said.

"Your compassion, generosity, and support have brought us comfort and strength when we have needed it most."
