'A moment we’ll never forget!' Chart-toppers reunite for surprise performance at Edge Fest
Last updated 5 hours ago
Professor Green and Emeli Sandé have reunited on stage for the first time in almost 10 years - here, in the Scottish Borders.
They performed their number one hit Read All About It together in the big top at Edge Fest last night (Saturday).
The pair both checked in to Lilliardsedge Holiday Park near Jedburgh for day two of the annual event, which is now in its fourth year.
But while Professor Green first appeared on stage earlier in the day, the chart-topping rapper wasn't in a hurry to leave.
He lapped up the atmosphere before returning four hours later to join Emeli Sandé for a surprise performance of their 2011 hit during her set - the penultimate performance of the night.
Organisers have described it as "A moment we’ll never forget 💚"
In a statement, they added: "After almost 10 years, Professor Green and Emeli Sandé reunited on stage to perform Read All About It together, right here at Edge Fest in Jedburgh.
"Thousands of voices, one iconic song and a truly unforgettable piece of Edge Fest history."
Former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating is set to headline the final day of Edge Fest tonight (Sunday).
He follows performances from rap star Tinie Tempah and our own George Bowie.
Scottish country-pop singer-songwriter Lucy Tay got proceedings under way on Friday, when Callum Beattie topped the bill.
90s favourites Five, and disco legends Boney M have also received rave reviews from revellers at the event, which has been expanded from two to three days.
Speaking ahead of this year's event, Festival director Stuart MacDonald told Greatest Hits Radio: "We're really proud to be able to attract people like Ronan Keating and Five, who are selling out arenas across the country.
"Our main reason for launching the festival was to give people in the Borders a chance to see these kind of acts without the hassle of travelling to the likes of Newcastle, Edinburgh, or Glasgow.
"And now the tables are slightly turned in that there are people coming from outwith the Borders to see some of the acts that are performing at Edge Fest."
He added: "I can remember seeing both Tinie Tempah and Emeli Sandé performing on the main stage at T in the Park all those years ago so, for them to now be in our line-up, it feels like a really strange sort of full circle moment."
