Man who died in Innerleithen crash named

A man who died following a crash near Innerleithen has been named as John Murray.

Emergency services were called to the A72 around 12.40pm on Saturday, 11 April, following a three-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and two cars.

Mr Murray, 53, who was riding a black Yamaha motorbike, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.

There were no other reported injuries.

Police Scotland say enquiries into the crash are ongoing and are continuing to appeal for information.

Road Policing Sergeant Dave Waddell said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Murray’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“I would like to thank the public for their support during our enquiries. We continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash, has dashcam footage which may assist our investigation, or anyone who was in the area at the time and has information about what happened, to come forward.”
