Pensioner found with indecent images of children as young as two is sentenced
A pensioner found in possession of more than 100 indecent photographs of children as young as two has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years.
Jedburgh Sheriff Court previously heard police, acting on information, attended the home of Alexander Lumgair, in the Scottish Borders, in April last year.
Eighty images showing children between the ages of two and 12-years of age were found on a laptop, while a further 50 images showing children between the ages of six and 14 were found on a USB stick.
Some of the images were described as being in Category A, which is the most serious.

Lumgair - who also admitted taking, or permitting to be taken, indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children - committed the offences at his home at Roxburgh Mains Farm Cottage, near Kelso, between April 2nd and 9th last year.
He had initially clicked on a link for one thing, his solicitor said, and ended up on something else.
But, he added, Lumgair was contrite and regretful and had engaged with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation - a child sexual abuse prevention charity.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said the sentence is a direct alternative to custody.
