TV star Jeremy Clarkson praises 'beautiful' Scottish Borders after three-day trip
Last updated 5th Jul 2026
One of the best known faces on television appears to have declared the Scottish Borders the "most beautiful" part of Britain.
Jeremy Clarkson - best know for hosting shows like Top Gear and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? - was spotted in Hawick during a three day visit to the region last week.
He is currently starring in his own show on Prime, Clarkson's Farm, which documents the challenges of running his farm, Diddly Squat, in the Cotswolds.
And confirmed he bought some cows during his trip north.
The production company behind the reality TV show is also filming Alan Carr's move to Ayton Castle for a new series on Disney +, but it's unclear if he paid the TV funnyman a visit.
"I've always never been able to decide which is Britain's most beautiful bit: North Devon or the Yorkshire Dales," Clarkson told his 7.4 million followers on social media platform X.
"But I've just spent the last three days in the Scottish Borders and now I have an answer. God almighty, they're beautiful.
"Also, I bought some cows there."
Locals have widely welcomed the TV star's comments, with The South of Destination Alliance adding: "The secret's out!"
Responding, Borders MP John Lamont said: "Yes, we're very lucky to live in such a beautiful place - hope you've enjoyed your stay!"

Meanwhile, bargain-hunters are converging on TV funnyman Alan Carr's new home in the Borders this morning (Sunday).
An auction's taking place on the lawn at Ayton Castle of all the items left behind by the previous owners, which the comedian doesn't have a use for.
Items include 19th-century artwork, Victorian beds, rugs and a Bentley.
