WATCH: The Great Selkirk Haggis Hunt returns
Last updated 16th Jan 2026
It began as a light-hearted nod to Scotland's national bard, and attracted hundreds of people armed with fishing nets and home made bow and arrows, to a hill in the Borders before it was curtailed during Covid.
The Great Selkirk Haggis Hunt traditionally took place on the Sunday nearest Burns Night to help fill dinner tables with the Scottish delicacy, on the anniversary of the birth of the man who penned the famous poem "Address to a Haggis".
And, this year, it's being revived, following an absence of a number of years.
Haggis hunters are being invited to meet at the Argus Centre in Selkirk (TD7 4EP) at 11am on Sunday, January 18th.
