Two people taken to hospital following crash near Borders beauty spot

Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment following a crash near a beauty spot in the Scottish Borders.
A car and a motorcycle were involved in a collision on the A708 road between Selkirk and St Mary's Loch around midday today (Sunday).
Emergency services raced to the scene near the Gordon Arms after the alarm was raised.
And the road was closed while the area was made safe, but has since reopened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended and the driver of the car and the motorcyclist were taken to hospital for treatment."

The road is part of a trial which has seen speed limits reduced, from 60mph to 50mph, as part of a renewed drive to reduce the number of serious and fatal collisions involving motorcycles.
Launched in April last year, the pilot is due to run for 18-months, after which data will be evaluated, and a consultation will be carried out on whether to retain the 50mph limit, or revert to 60mph.
